Opportunity: Event Director

UKEL is seeking to appoint an Event Director on a freelance contract basis for an exciting (but not yet announced) Paralympic Qualification event to be staged in Liverpool in September 2027.
The event is being planned and delivered by UKEL; a new independent event hosting company, offering a full end-to-end solution for the event stakeholders by managing the funding, contracts, stakeholders, procurement and event director/programme management services for the event. Partners in the delivery of this event include Liverpool City Council, Liverpool Accommodation BID, and UK Sport.
About the role
UKEL is seeking to appoint an Event Director to lead the delivery of the championships, reporting into the event Steering Group and supported by the UKEL Director of Events.
The Event Director shall lead on all aspects of event delivery, stakeholder relations, governance and compliance with our funding contracts.
Most importantly, the Event Director shall lead the Local Organising Committee in delivering a truly world class championships, showcasing the sport as the exciting, vibrant and inclusive sport it is, and creating a platform for all competing teams/athletes to compete at their best.
The role is considered remote working with regular travel to Loughborough and Liverpool as required.
Contract type
The role is a freelance contract role, and will require a phased level of commitment.
· May 27 to Feb 27, part time 2.5 days per week
· Mar 27 to Sep 27, full time,
· Oct 27 to Dec 27, part time 2.5 days per week
